OEE includes CSU Extension, CSU Extended Campus (including CSU Online), the Colorado Water Center and a variety of vibrant programs that engage the teaching, research, extension, and service missions of Colorado State University. The Vice President for Engagement and Extension (VPEE) is the principal administrative, academic, and fiscal officer for the division, reports to the CSU President, and works closely with the Provost/Executive Vice President. OEE works collaboratively across all Colleges and offices on campus, and has strong engagement programs throughout Colorado, the Western US and globally. At any given time, OEE includes over 400 employees. The total of budgets is approximately $85 million. OEE is one of the most institutionally comprehensive commitments to engagement and outreach among all land-grant and other universities. Propelled by OEE's leadership, nationally CSU is a Carnegie Engaged University (2008, 2014), is a member of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium, is an APLU Innovation and Economic Prosperity University (2016) and is highly ranked for its online degree programs. Annually, CSU Extended Campus garners enrollments of over 10,000 learners and CSU Extension delivers approximately 500,000 educational contacts. This work unit exists to implement the resources and programs of the Eagle County Extension Specialists for Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development and Horticulture and Small Acreage Management. Eagle County Extension is one county within the CSU Extension system of 64 counties which provides information, education and encourages the application of research-based knowledge in response to local, county and state issues affecting individuals, youth, families, agriculture enterprises and the communities within Eagle County. Position Summary This position provides administrative, personnel, financial and technical support for the Eagle County Extension office. The Eagle County Extension office is made up of the County Director with Family & Consumer Science responsibilities, Horticulture and Small Acreage Management Specialist and the 4-H Youth Development Specialist. This position acts as a liaison to the county staff and administration, CSU Extension personnel and the general public. The position implements guidelines, assists three Extension Specialists and Volunteers with various needs for projects or programs. This position ensures outcomes and assists the Eagle County Extension Specialists in making decisions relevant to Eagle County and Extension's mission. Analyzes, integrates and interprets data from various sources, assists in implementing resources and programs. Supports volunteers from each programming area. Assists with organization and coordination of projects and program logistics and resources to meet all deadlines and maintain quality of programming. The Extension Program Coordinator, will work under the general supervision of and report to the Eagle County Extension Director with guidance from the 4-H Youth Development Specialist and Horticulture Specialist. This position is located in Eagle, Colorado and is fully in-office/in-person. This is a part-time position, 24 hours/week (.6 FTE). Required Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Demonstrated use of technology and computer skills in both Microsoft and Google.
  • Demonstrated experience using accounting software and/or financial and purchasing systems. Examples include Kuali, QuickBooks, New World, etc.
  • Able to take direction and use independent judgment to coordinate a variety of projects and meet multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Exhibits organizational skills, is detail oriented, able to prioritize and demonstrates success coordinating multiple projects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing strong customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to respond to the needs of diverse audiences through adaptable written and verbal communication methods.
  • Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain a driver's license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date.
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; Extension will not sponsor a visa for this position.

  • Completed bachelor's degree.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member at multiple levels.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with basic regulations, guidelines, policies, other parameters and objectives with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Previous experience managing organizational budgets.
  • Previous experience coordinating youth, family or community-based events.
  • Knowledge and experience in 4-H programming and procedures, livestock/animals, horticulture/gardening and consumer sciences.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.

  • Collaborate with the County Director and Extension Specialists to organize and establish work processes and implement guidelines to support Eagle County Extension.
  • Act as the Office Manager for Eagle County Extension office ensuring day to day operations.
  • Negotiate with vendors and review contracts to ensure they meet CSU/Eagle County guidelines. Develop specifications and make recommendations and purchases.
  • Compose and edit correspondence for Eagle County Extension staff, advising on accuracy and clarity.
  • Prepare reports, monitor deadlines and timelines and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage program logistics, contact vendors, negotiate contracts and fees, setting up for meetings, meals and necessary equipment required.
  • Performs publishing with Canva, markets and edits a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, forms, newsletters, flyers, annual reports and other material requiring judgment as to content, accuracy and completeness.
  • Assists with program marketing and communication.
  • Composes and edits CSU Extension content on the Eagle County website, CSU FaceBook and other social media platforms.
  • Markets Eagle County Extension office using media and social media.
  • Provides technical computer support to staff.
  • Assist Extension Specialists, volunteers and clientele by answering questions.
Percentage Of Time 35% Job Duty Category Fiscal Management Duty/Responsibility
  • Maintains Eagle County appropriated and nonappropriated CSU Extension accounting in Kuali including bookkeeping, collecting money, making deposits and entering and reconciling account information with the CSU financial system for all accounts.
  • Maintains all accounts for Eagle County Extension General Budget.
  • Track and monitor fiscal efforts and budget accounts.
  • Acts as the purchasing agent for the Eagle County Extension office.
  • Acts as an Administrator in Kuali to authorize and review expenditures for purchase orders, P-card purchases, travel and non-travel reimbursements.
  • Acts as the registrar and fiscal agent for all CSU Extension programming events including tracking and funding for those events and payments for expenses.
  • Acts as the registrar and fiscal agent for Eagle County 4-H including receiving, depositing and reporting for 4-H enrollment, trips and fundraising events.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Eagle County office and fiscal office on campus.

  • Establishes and maintains record keeping and tracking for events as necessary, assists with entry registrations and awards.
  • Establishes and maintains record keeping and tracking for the 4-H enrollment database, completion of projects and generates reports.
  • Establishes and maintains record keeping and tracking for Master Gardener database and generates reports.
  • Assists with support and training for volunteers, 4-H leaders and families.
  • Establishes and maintains record keeping and tracking systems for County Fair.
  • Establishes, maintains and organizes Extension mailing lists and Fact Sheets for the public.

  • Assists with projects by determining goals, estimating time frames, coordinating with staff involved to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot unexpected issues as they arise during the planning and execution process to accommodate and follow through with necessary resolutions.
  • Oversees seasonal gardener, office and program volunteers and interns to make sure work is being done efficiently.
