DEPARTMENT: SCIENCEPOSITION BEGINS: OPEN APPLICANT POOL FLSA STATUS: Seasonal/Part-time/ Temporary/Exempt UNIVERSITY MISSION: To educate Christians who will make a difference in the world for Jesus Christ. LOCATION: Corban University's 220+ acre campus is situated on a hillside forest setting overlooking the Willamette Valley, just minutes from the heart of Salem, Oregon's capital city. The rugged coast awaits only an hour's drive to the west. To the east is the mountainous Cascade Range. Portland, the state's largest city, is less than an hour away and is home to cultural museums, parks, shopping, and restaurants. Adjuncts may be hired to teach on campus or remote, depending on the needs of the department at that time.SUMMARY: This pool accepts applications for potential openings for part-time instructors (Adjuncts) that may arise throughout the year and is not a guarantee of an open position. Adjuncts may be hired for a variety of course instruction, but specially Science in support of our Nursing program.SOME ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develop course schedules and syllabi.
- Identify and meet the learning needs of students.
- Perform biblical integration in line with Corban's Statement of Faith.
- Develop and administer formative and summative assessment instruments for students' progress and competence.
- Work closely and maintain consistent communication with the department chair to insure instructional alignment with School of Ministry outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree in related field for undergraduate teaching.
- Doctoral degree is required to teach graduate level courses.
- Candidate should value an environment that reflects the diversity of God's kingdom, engages in global concerns and connects culturally.
- Candidate must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and evidence a mature Christian faith, be in agreement with the University's Statement of Faith, and be committed to the integration of biblical principles throughout the teaching process.
