Position Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the quality of health care in Florida.

We are seeking to hire an Administrative Secretary who desires to work to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program.

This position requires a candidate who is creative, flexible, innovative, and who will thrive in a fast-paced, team-based work environment.

This position is located in the Bureau of Medicaid Program Finance (MPF).

MPF manages and projects Florida's $34.5 billion Medicaid Services budget, oversees financial reporting of the Agency's contracted Medicaid health plans, calculates both institutional and non-institutional Medicaid reimbursement rates, and disburses supplemental payments to Medicaid providers.

This position is responsible for complex and significant secretarial work assisting the Medicaid Cost Reimbursement Regulatory Analyst Supervisor and other staff in the Cost Reimbursement section of the Medicaid Program Finance Bureau.

A person in this position also performs duties related to the coordination of the processing of provider cost reports, reimbursement rates and financial ability reviews.

Independent judgment and initiative are required to solve problems encountered.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

Assists in the maintenance of the supplemental payment and hospital perm files.

Receives and distributes incoming correspondence.

Review outgoing correspondence and maintain daily log to assure accuracy and completeness.

Maintains daily schedule of appointments and meetings for the Regulatory Analyst Supervisor of the Cost Reimbursement Section and coordinates staff participation.

Assembles necessary information and attachments for special studies, surveys, reports, etc. before submission to the Regulatory Analyst Supervisor for final approval.

Acts in a public relations capacity in representing the Cost Reimbursement Section and MPF to persons by telephone.

Functions as a liaison with staff members of other agencies, professional associations, and providers; follows up on projects assigned to the Cost Reimbursement Section to ensure timely completion and to facilitate advising of project status.

Assists in liaison efforts between the Regulatory Analyst Supervisor and their staff to ensure that internal assignments are carried out in a timely basis.

Serves as CorrFlow back-up for MPF.

Maintains Cost Reimbursement's Section supplies, inventory, & assigned office equipment by purchasing, stocking, and scheduling of necessary products and services required to meet demands.

This position is not a remote or telework position; it will have to report to a Field Office or the Headquarters in Tallahassee.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Two years of administrative or clerical experience is required.

An associate degree from an accredited college and one year of administrative experience is preferred. Administrative or clerical experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
