Unit manager Job duties
1. Rounds upon arrival Resident rooms, med room, crash cart, refrigerator
2. Make CNA schedule daily and sign off on showers
3. Go over 24 hour report prepare for morning meeting
4. Check MARS & TARS, CNA books, and FMP books all signed
5. Schedule appointments and transports accompany, nursing notes
6. Update matrix on Mondays copy to administration
7. Weekly weights of Thursdays copy to Olga, Lenox and Alex
a. Monthly report by 10th of the month weight gain or loss are to be addressed immediately (CP, Intervention, nursing notes)
8. Update DR seating arrangements weekly, give to ADON
9. Monthly ABT reports due last day of monthly follow forms in ABT book copy ADON
10. Attend UR meeting on Tuesday update care plans accordingly
11. Weekly Psych orders take off documents and CP, Psychiatrist comes on Tuesdays
12. Review and complete all N/A + R/A (contact ADON &DON) weight orders, Nutrition, wounds
13. Monthly pharmacy reports are to be completed in 5 days and returned to ADON
14. Lab requisition forms in lab book monthly pull out old ones and return to DON
15. Weekly Wednesday wound rounds- follow NP- TX cart, write orders and care plan and nurse notes
16. care plan updates (calendar) as well as n/a, r/a, or any changes a resident may have. Review and contact ADON (room number, new meds, pain behavior, weight + or -, dialysis, etc)
17. Make sure stock meds and paper supplies are ordered
18. Make sure proper diet slips made when residents go in or out of hospital or appointments ( we do not want trays to come up in resident is not here)
19. Communicate and contact 3-11 supervisor ensuring all labs are correctly followed through as well as PT/INR tracking
20. Ensure 11-7 is chart checking, filling out tempature log, cleaning refrigerator and defrosting weekly as well as signing off
21. Ensure all nurses are doing recaps when they come in and make sure schedule is out and n/o are being recapped
22. Follow up on documentation from nurses being done correctly (related to n/o, behaviors, meal monitoring MDS and assessments, /a admiss, r/a notes etc)
23. Make sure CNAs are feeding, changing clothes, and showering residents. Taking appropriate breaks, passing ice, late carts etc.
