This position is located at the Department of Mental Health, Charleston Dorchester Center, 2125 Charlie Hall Blvd, Charleston, SC 29414.
- Under the team leader, this clinician will be responsible for answering incoming crisis calls and providing telephonic crisis intervention services, screening and consultation in a culturally competent manner as the backup for 988 Lifeline.
- Provides a quality response in a culturally competent manner to callers of the 988 Lifeline.
- Identifies concerns with mental illness, developmental disabilities and/or substance use and refers to the appropriate resources. Utilize assessment information and community resources to provide information and or/linkage and referral to services.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsState Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services programs. Preferred Qualifications Ability to multi task and work as a team in a call center which may include triaging, de-escalating, and safetly planning. Able to make suggestions with management to improve communication, collaboration, and procedures in support of the emergency services continuum of care.
