988 Crisis Chat Text Supervisor

The Hotline Department hiring a supervisor to oversee its newest program addition, 988 Crisis Chat Text Program.

JOB STATUS: Full-time, 40 hrs. per week, Monday - Friday

YOUR ROLE:

988 Crisis Chat Text Program provides emotional support, risk assessment, safety planning, and resources to all contacts. This position is responsible for the overall operation of the program. As the 988 Crisis Chat Text Supervisor you are responsible to monitor all crisis change and text interaction for quality and provide in-the moment support to crisis counselors.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

* Monitors Crisis Chat and Text interactions and ensures appropriate intervention for a variety of chat and text visitors. Ensures clinical and operational quality standards are maintained with each interaction. Provides in-the-moment support to Crisis Interventions Specialists.

* Makes determination when in person response or active rescue is required for chat or text visitors at imminent risk or a suicide attempt in progress. Coordinates with mobile crisis teams, 911 dispatchers, and/or emergency responders when needed.

* Manages queues and transfers interactions between Crisis Intervention Specialists as needed based on acuity and presentation of the visitor and/or Crisis Intervention Specialist skill level.

* Ensures thorough risk assessment, safety planning, de-escalation, follow-up, and positive rapport-building take place in every interaction. Provides supportive feedback, training and coaching to staff taking interactions where needed. Responds promptly to staff requests for support.

* Initiates debriefs with Crisis Intervention Specialists after they have completed an interaction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or other behavioral health field required.

* Two years' experience working with individuals in crisis preferred.

* Knowledge of crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and multicultural issues.

* Excellent verbal, written and typing skills.

* Telephone assessment or help line experience preferred.
