Reference #: 545548 DescriptionAcara Solutions is looking for a Quality Inspector II for one of our clients located in Quakertown, PA. Duration: 3 months, possibility to convert Schedule: Mon-Fri 3:30PM - 12AM Pay rate: $25-$28/hr. + 10% differentialWhat you will do: Work with very tiny parts, working under microscopes, calipers & micrometers to check dimensions. Use SmartScope, a microscope you program along with CMM to measure parts & comparator. Visualize the parts & retention samples to compare parts for visual defects & checking dimensions. Compare part numbers, drawing numbers, specifications, and revision levels on purchase orders to material and tooling received. Review Certification of Compliance to applicable requirements. Visually inspect material, and tooling for damage and general workmanship, using a microscope when required. Dimensionally inspect raw material, finished parts, and tooling, to purchase order and applicable documentation using gauging and or other required equipment. Verify physical and chemical requirements of raw material through review of certifications. Record results of inspections by part number in a receiving inspection log and maintain an inspection data package for each lot of material and tooling inspected. Identify accepted items to be inventoried. Identify nonconforming items and segregate them from accepted items and generate reports as required. Collect and enter data into the SPC system for PTI products when required. Responsible for reviewing supplier documentation and inspecting supplier product Dimensionally and visually audit WIP at machine center and review documentation for conformance to all applicable requirements. Identify nonconforming supplier product or documentation upon receipt to eliminate or minimize manufacturing downtime. Responsible for performing inspections in a timely manner and meeting inspection deadlines for product shipment.. Inform the QA group leader if it appears that the daily shipping requirements will not be met due to heavy inspection workload or insufficient amount of time. Prior to presenting a possibly subjective nonconformance to the QA Group leader, research the history of the part through retention samples and documentation to validate the nonconformance Responsible for assisting QA Group leader with mentoring new or current personnel Perform Final Inspections and testing as required by drawing/specification/work instructions prior to shipment to customer. Utilize computers to satisfy the requirements of the position, i.e. e-mail, reading reports, reading spreadsheets, etc. Enter data and print reports from SPC software used in the manufacturing process. Interpret and utilize data from SPC software. Generate calibration records in the QSI Database. Generate required documents or spread sheets.Job RequirementsRequired Skills / Qualifications: High School Diploma Minimum of 5 years' experience working with very tiny parts, under microscopes, with calipers & micrometers to check dimensions Minimum of 2 years' experience Inspecting part(s) using SmartScope with an open set-up and Programing Smartscope for repetitive inspection and generate applicable reports.Preferred Skills / Qualifications: Ability to handle small parts with good hand and eye coordination skills. Ability to identify the proper measuring tool for each feature of a part and the proper measuring technique with hand held gages (i.e micrometer, caliper, surface plate, etc) Ability to set-up and measure a part on a Comparator and utilize the advanced functions Ability to set up and use a Laser Micrometer. Ability to operate the Surface Roughness Checker and correctly interpret the data. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedures, work instructions, specifications, drawings and purchase orders. Ability to inspect part(s) using CMM with an open set-up Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Abilit to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with normal problems that arise during the course of a typical work day. Ability to calibrate hand held gauges IAW applicable Work Instructions Ability to instruct operators in proper inspection technique required for a particular part/feature. Additional Information: Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen. Train on 1st shift for a couple weeks 7A-3:30P Extended hours beyond the normal week will be necessary when specific shipments are due; thus, overtime will be necessary. The majority of the time will be spent in a manufacturing environment with constant and medium to loud noise level and within a controlled temperature environment Working near moving parts will occasionally be necessary. Occasional exposure to solvents and cutting oils.
