Job Summary
Assist with Mechanical activities in accordance with the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Interchange Rules. Perform processes for proper handling of freight cars in accordance with AAR Interchange Rules, which includes assurance of proper disposition of defective cars and proper processing of damaged equipment with car owners and repair shops. Maintain accurate data for CSXT equipment in Umler, the industrywide AAR equipment database.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
* Process Damaged and Defective Car Tracking (DDCT) notices for proper execution of Rules 1, 95, 96, 107, and 108. Includes incidents and disposition of equipment on and off line.
* Facilitate the AAR Joint Inpection Certificate (JIC) reconciliation process.
* Perform CSXT Umler maintenance activity, assist with project start-up/analysis, R1 Corporate Reporting, Mechanical equipment lease administration, casualty reporting and annual equipment condition reporting (AECRs).
* Assign, route, bill and monitor damaged car carrying equipment.Provide assistance to field personnel and customers for proper handling of cars according to AAR Interchange Rules.
* Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
* Associates Degree/2-year Degree
* 3 or more years of experience in Railroad Operations - Association of American Railroads (AAR) Interchange Rules
Equivalent Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma/GED
* 5 or more years of experience in Railroad OperationsAssociation of American Railroads (AAR) Interchange Rules
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
* 7 or more years of experience in 5 or more years railroad operations and applicable AAR Interchange Rule experience along with Umler knowledge, plus knowledge of Mechanical information systems and advanced communication skills, both verbal and written.

* Umler specification knowledge
* Knowledge of Mechanical and Transportation mainframe and web applications (MTI, MRMS, EW, etc.)
* Business Objects (BOBJ) knowledge
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Fact based problem solving skills
* Ability to work independently and with diverse teams
* Microsoft Office skills (especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
