The Academic Advisor position for Student Development, within the JWS Center for Student Success, is responsible for providing academic advisement and support to first year and at-risk undergraduate students who must complete developmental/remedial courses of study as part of their Admission to the University; providing academic advisement and support to students who are pursuing an Associate's degree or who are majoring in the Bachelor's of Interdisciplinary degree program; providing support to at-risk students who are conditionally admitted to the University or who have undeclared major designation; developing and implementing effective strategies to increase student retention; assisting with support services; researching and compiling information on student trends and needs, and presenting information on matters related to student success; and providing support for the Dean of Undergraduate and First Year Studies in areas related to the activities of the JWS Center and its mission of student success, retention, progression and degree completion.
