The Academic Affairs and Curriculum Coordinator provides administrative coordination and support for a variety of key administrative functions in the CDM Office of Academic Affairs. The Academic Affairs and Curriculum Coordinator works closely with CDM administration, faculty, and professional staff to support core academic operations and the dental admissions processes. A full list of benefits can be found here ( Benefits | University of New England in Maine ).ResponsibilitiesIn coordination with the Academic and Student Affairs teams as well as the Dean's office, this position will carry out all assigned daily administrative and operational duties related to supporting faculty and students, programs and services, and other key administrative functions that promote the College's academic mission in a student-centered environment.Responsibilities of the position will include, but are not limited to:Provides a high level of administrative, communication, and organizational supportMaintains a database of all students enrolled; tracks and monitors student academic progress; and coordinates submission of necessary documentation to the RegistrarAssists with the creation of a variety of academic schedules and calendarsManages, builds and deploys course, course director, assisting faculty and guest lecturer evaluations each semester; extracts and reviews evaluations and provides comprehensive and summary information to administration and facultyDistributes various surveys (e.g., graduate exit survey, alumni survey, post-graduate director survey, student self-assessment of competency survey, etc.) and generates reports on resultsCollects and aggregates academic data and prepares reports for the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Academic Affairs Committee, and DeanAssists with the collection, review, and distribution of all course syllabiPrepares reports, takes minutes, tracks actions and recommendations, and provides other support for CDM Committees as assignedProvides back-up support for electronic assessment creation and maintenance of the Learning Management SystemAssists with on-boarding of new faculty and staff, as neededProvides support for the accreditation process and site visitsMaintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretionMaintains current knowledge of University policies and proceduresOversees special projects, as assignedMaintains regular attendance and reliabilityResponds quickly to faculty or student concernsPerforms other duties, as assignedQualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree preferredExperience:A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in higher education or medical/dental administrationPrevious experience in organizing and maintaining moderately complex filing and record-keeping systems (paper and electronic) consistent with FERPAStrong computer skills and extensive knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Docs and other programsExperience in academic affairs is desirable, or experience resolving complex issues while remaining calm and unflappableWork experience in higher education and/or health care facility, including customer service, quality assurance, and regulatory complianceAdditional preferred qualifications:Excellent oral, written, reading, and spelling/grammar skillsExceptional project management skillsProven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesEvidence of flexibility and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated effective interpersonal communication skillsStrong intellectual and creative thinking skillsStrength in self-driven performance and initiativesAbility to provide excellent customer service and work effectively in a diverse communityAbility to build strong professional relationships and problem solve in team-based environmentGood general understanding of higher education organizational structure and administrative operationsEEO Statement SummaryConsistent with federal and state law and University policy, the University of New England is committed to the fundamental concept of equal opportunity for all of the members of the University community.
