SUBJECT: Academic Associate Principal - PROMISE College and Career Academy
It is requested that the following information be brought to the attention of all teaching and administrative personnel in the Brockton Public Schools. Pending funding, the School Department is advertising the position of Academic Associate Principal.
Qualifications:
1.Principal/Assistant Principal 9-12 license.
2.Five or more years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience at the high school level.
3.Strong background in secondary education, initiatives, philosophy, teaching, and curriculum and instruction preferred.
4.Experience in change process, redesign initiatives and strategies, accreditation, special education, and multilingual learners preferred.
5.Knowledge of Early College/Dual Enrollment initiatives for high school students.
6.Supervision and evaluation experience preferred.
7.Knowledge of Transformative Learning Experiences and Competency-based practices preferred.
8.Knowledge of the Primary Person Model and Restorative Justice practices preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Work collaboratively with directors, coordinators, and department heads of English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Science, Wellness, Health, Career and Technical Education, Classical and Modern Languages, Bilingual, Music, Art and Guidance.
2.Work collaboratively with Special Education to meet the needs of all students on IEPs and 504s.
3.Work collaboratively with the leadership team to monitor student work and analyze assessment data in order to plan and facilitate professional learning that supports effective instruction.
4.Assume the role of Testing Coordinator for STAR, ACCESS, and MCAS testing across the school as directed by the principal.
5.Collaborate on the development and implementation of Transformative Learning Experience (TLE) Units, Financial Literacy integration in all content areas and other school based and districtwide curriculum
6.Collaborate with the Director of Early College/Dual Enrollment and the Coordinator of Accelerated Programs to increase access to accelerated learning opportunities for all students.
7.Support the expansion of college, career and technical education as it relates to enrollment in college level classes and CTE pathways.
8.Monitor and oversee the scheduling process across the school as directed by the principal.
9.Collaborate with the principal in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of staff.
10.Provide leadership in high school initiatives: design, accreditation, curriculum and instruction, budget, needs assessments, implementing goals aligned to the Strategic Plan and School Improvement Plan, improvement of student performance, professional development, mentoring, etc.
11.On an equitable and rotating basis, attend late afternoon, evening and weekend events related to the position as assigned by building administration.
12.Perform all related professional duties as assigned by the Principal, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning 6-12, or the Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.
Compensation:1.30 ratio/11 months
Workday:7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
