Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Telecommunications or designee, the Academic Computing Support Specialist will oversee the day-to-day operations of the SSSC and provide support for the college's academic computer laboratories and classrooms
Supervisory Role
Oral and written instructions are received from the Associate Director of Telecommunications or designee the Academic Computing Support Specialist, may supervise professional staff, support staff and student workers.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, education, or related field.
2. Previous experience in a technical support role, preferably within an academic setting.
3. Proficiency in troubleshooting software and hardware issues, as well as familiarity with academic systems such as learning management systems (LMS).
4. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, faculty and staff.
6. Superior oral and written communication skills.
7. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities

1. Master's degree in information technology, higher education administration, or related field.
2. Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
3. Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance standards in higher education.
4. Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for ensuring inclusive technology environments.
