Travel required 50%-70% rangeCore of the RoleThe Nutrition Business Director is responsible for leading all commercialand business developmental activities for the Nutrition Industry (SportsNutrition, Early Life Nutrition & Medical Nutrition) in the United States. Theideal candidate is a technical thought leader with in-depth knowledge of theindustry and the dynamics, is well connected and is a relationship builder.This role has full strategic responsibility for the Nutrition business in identifyingportfolio and business opportunities, assigning resources and working with thesupplier and customer base to drive profitable revenue growth. This candidatewill be building strategic customer business relationships with brand owners aswell as co-manufacturers, managing a commercial team, identifying gaps andsourcing new suppliers as well as providing vision for sales strategies for theNutrition business segment.Expected Qualification/EducationBachelor's degree in Science orrelated Technology, ideally complemented with a Business DegreeWork Experience10years or more experience in the Nutrition or Nutra Industry with increasingresponsibility in managing business and or sales activities. An ideal candidatehas experience in working with the co-manufacturers and nutrition brand ownerin a sales management or commercial capacity and has extensive relationships inthe industry.Targeted Skills & CapabilitiesStrong experience inall aspects of nutrition ingredient or product sales with knowledge andconnections with both the brand and contract manufacturers.Thorough understandingof nutrition trends and market drivers, a content expert in Nutrition orNutra Industry. Strong technical expertise in Nutrition applications andingredients.Experience indeveloping growth strategies, distribution channel management, accountdevelopment, and business planning.Excellent leadershipskills to inspire, motivate and train commercial and technical employeeslocated in dispersed locations.A well-defined senseof diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and peoplemanagement skills.Excellent teamwork andteam building skills.Able to build andmaintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key businesspartners, and customers.Demonstrated abilityto lead and direct a sales force. Demonstrated knowledgeof accounting and financial practices.Strong problemidentification and problem resolution skills.Strong collaboration& influencing skills, with excellent business acumen and understandingof financial metrics High level ofproficiency with Microsoft tools and ideally Salesforce.comJob DutiesDevelop and drive the nutrition sales strategy throughout the USResponsible for talent acquisition and developmentDevelop a sales team to drive profitable growth throughout the Nutrition account base.Close collaboration with our Nutrition Category Business Director (responsible for supplier portfolio management and supplier development) to identify and address portfolio gaps, principal profitability and activity, conflict management and resolution, setting priorities and focus products.Develop acomprehensive understanding of market share and developing trends in thenutrition space. Plan and executeNutrition focused marketing strategy including trade show appearances inconjunction with Technical Director, Marketing Director and SalesManagement.Develop, manage, andnurture new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit and volumegoals.Collaborate with thesenior leadership team to develop short- and long-term strategic plans,including the preparation of annual business plans.Provide input in salesand operations planning - including growth, competitive analysis, markettrends, and business environment - for strategic planning processes.
