Minimum Qualifications

Desired Qualifications

* One year experience with faculty personnel actions administration at a major research university, including, but not limited to, promotion and tenure, expedited tenure review, probationary reviews, promotion process for fixed-term faculty and academic professionals, annual faculty evaluations, and sabbatical leaves.

* Experience with faculty recruitment processes.

* Demonstrated knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of human resources administration, focused on academic personnel.

* Knowledge of Arizona State University policies and procedures.

* Experience using Interfolio/APARS products -- Faculty Search, ASU Vita, and Review, Promotion & Tenure (RPT).

* Experience using Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat to create and/or edit PDF documents.

* Experience working effectively in team environments subject to tight deadlines and quickly changing priorities.

* Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.

* Evidence of effective communication skills.

* Demonstrated knowledge of exemplary customer service principles through actively listening, acknowledging and responding to every inquiry.

* Evidence of effective problem-solving and decision-making skills in a complex organization.

Essential Duties

* Interprets university and Board of Regents policy pertaining to faculty and academic professionals.

* Serves as the primary College contact for the Natural Science units to ensure compliance with all ASU and ABOR policies and procedures.

* Advises college and unit representatives on academic personnel processes including promotions and tenure, sabbatical leaves, recruitment and hiring, and faculty annual evaluations.

* Consults with staff and others to coordinate, provide technical advice, and problem-solving assistance as it pertains to academic personnel searches and hiring processes; ensures appropriate approvals are obtained and processes are followed.

* Composes offer letters, /renewals, and other academic correspondence for the Divisional Dean's signature to ensure timely completion and distribution of all applicable documents.

* Assists with reports and communication to faculty and college academic support staff.

* Reviews faculty appointment data for consistency and accuracy; coordinates with The College financial team.

* Reviews, processes and tracks faculty retirements, resignations and emeritus status requests.

* Reviews, processes and tracks multi-year faculty and continuing-track academic professionals renewal schedule.

* Assists the Associate Dean and College staff with confidential and highly sensitive projects.

* Independently composes correspondence on a variety of subjects requiring judgment, originality, and knowledge of issues involved.

* Participates in meetings and conferences pertinent to area of responsibility

* Investigates, evaluates and resolves typical administrative/operational problems relating to academic personnel.

* Prepares for and manages various annual projects/processes (e.g., year-to-year renewals, administrative service assignments, and other projects as needed).

$65,000 - $75,000 per year; DOE
