The College seeks staff and faculty members who thrive in a multicultural academic environment and are committed to cementing our culture of pride, distinction and excellence.POSITION OVERVIEWThe Undergraduate Online Program Manager reports to the Director of Educational Partnerships and General Education in the office of Academic Programs and will collaborate with two Academic Affairs Units at John Jay College: Academic Programs and Student Academic Engagement and Retention, as well as faculty in the academic departments and staff in Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, to support the development of online undergraduate degree programs at John Jay College.This position is a blend of administrative responsibilities with direct student support responsibilities. The individual who assumes this role will contribute to the design and development of new online academic programs and sustain the college's mission to educate for Justice in online undergraduate programs. In fall 2023, John Jay College launched its first fully online undergraduate program in Criminal Justice, B.S. The degree offerings and student enrollment will scale over the next 2-3 years, while the college develops additional degree program offerings online and broadens recruitment efforts.The Undergraduate Online Program Manager oversees the coordination and administration of online undergraduate degree program functions including, but not limited to:+ Plans, organizes, and schedules program activities and courses in consultation with academic departments and administrative offices+ Designs and leads online program assessment+ Manages student intake, transition, and enrollment activities in partnership with the Office of Admissions and the CUNY Justice Academy program+ Designs and manages academic support and community engagement activities+ Designing and facilitate online teaching communities of practice for faculty and instructional designers+ Will coordinate the efforts of the office of admissions, registrar, DOES, tutoring centers, career center, the faculty, and support program staff, to ensure students in the program have access to pre-matriculation activities, co-curricular and curricular supportsThis is a substitute position for July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025, subject to renewalQUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSWe are seeking a candidate with expertise in student learning and development in online settings who is prepared to actively develop and create an effective undergraduate program structure.+ MA or equivalent in Education Technology, Instructional Design, Higher Education, or a related field+ 1-2 years professional experience in higher education, instructional design, student mentoring, or academic support roles+ At least 1-year experience teaching or facilitating activities in a postsecondary or secondary setting+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.+ Able to work positively and effectively with multiple internal and external partners and clients.+ Able to analyze, resolve, and develop long-term solutions to a wide variety of complex and unpredictable problems.+ Handling difficult and sensitive situations, using sound, independent judgment.+ Strong personal initiative.
