Academic and Student Affairs Coordinator (For Immediate Hire)

Full-time (In-person required) or Part-time (In-person preferred)

This role can be a full-time in-person at our Boston Office or part-time remotely with hours up to 30 per week.

  • Boston-based Full-Time Position: This role can be a full-time, in-person at our Boston office. Successful candidates will be provided with health insurance benefits.
  • Remote Part-Time Position: Alternatively, candidates can opt for a remote, part-time, US-based position, allowing for up to 30 hours per week.
Overview

Boston Islamic Seminary (BIS) seeks a committed Student and Academic Affairs Coordinator to join our dynamic team. You will manage student records and admissions communications and coordinate daily activities related to BIS academic programs. You will also provide project management support to the team, coordinate with BIS leadership, faculty, and students, and offer logistical assistance for faculty programming and student activities. Additionally, you will manage financial operations for students, including tuition and scholarships. Responsibilities

As part of our team, your job responsibilities will include:

  • Managing Student Records: You will be responsible for keeping track of student records, including enrollment, attendance, and academic progress. Maintaining accuracy and confidentiality is essential.
  • Assisting with Admissions: You will communicate with prospective students, providing information about our programs and guiding them through the application process.
  • Coordinating Academic Programs: You will help to organize and schedule classes, workshops, and seminars related to BIS academic programs.
  • Supporting Educational Project Management: You will support the BIS team by helping plan and execute various educational initiatives and events.
  • Facilitating Communication and Coordination: You will ensure smooth operations within the institution by facilitating effective communication and coordination among BIS leadership, faculty, and students.
  • Providing Logistical Assistance: You will help to organize and manage logistics for faculty programming and student activities, including event planning and coordination.
  • Overseeing Financial Operations: You will ensure proper financial operations for students, including tuition collection and scholarship administration.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:

To be eligible for consideration for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated 1-3 years of experience working with college students or in a customer service capacity.
  • Prior Experience with higher education and/or non-profit organizations is preferred and highly advantageous.
  • Display great diligence, organization, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse individuals and adapt to various personalities.
  • Showcase a strong work ethic, including the ability to prioritize and execute tasks independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear and effective interactions with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Be proficient in using Google Suite and have experience with Learning Management Systems (prior experience with Populi is preferred).
  • Possess strong organizational skills, enabling efficient task management.
  • Capable of consistently meeting deadlines while maintaining a high-quality standard in all deliverables.
  • Self-motivated and driven by results, constantly striving for excellence in job performance.

The salary range is between $50,000 USD and $54,000 USD, depending on the individual's experience and qualifications.
