Job DescriptionWhat We Are Looking ForBaylor University is seeking an Academic Support Specialist to support the mission and vision of the University within the School of Engineering and Computer Science. Specifically, this position will support online graduate degrees with program administration, academic advising, and event planning. The Academic Support Specialist will regularly interact with students as well as faculty, staff, department leadership and other campus partners. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required for success. Additionally, the successful candidate must have experience in organizational change and improvement, as well as robust critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. A Bachelor's Degree and three years of relevant experience is required. A Master's Degree and four years of relevant experience is preferred. Education and experience will be considered in lieu of one another.Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.What You Will Do
  • Provide academic advising and support to online graduate students
  • Coordinate virtual engagement and professional development events with alumni, instructors, and campus partners
  • Set up and maintain course sections for online graduate courses
  • Oversee and submit curriculum updates and update graduate catalog and degree audits with assistance from graduate program director
  • Design and implement academic success initiatives to promote student success and retention
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
  • Ability to comply with University policies.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
