Position Description Eastern University is seeking a full-time Academic Video Specialist with strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail. Working closely with instructional designers in the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT), this position will oversee the video editing process: providing detailed feedback to video editors, directly editing videos, and ensuring that all lecture videos are engaging, learner-centered videos for undergraduate and graduate courses. Status: Staff, full-time, 40 hours per week Position Responsibilities
- Edit lecture videos to enhance their quality and alignment with academic goals and objectives ,incorporating visual callouts according to the CTLT Video Editors' Brand Guide to enhance the lecture's purpose and content
- Develop and maintain clear standards and a vision for the desired look and quality of videos, ensuring consistency and alignment when reviewing and providing feedback on other editors' work.
- Review and provide constructive feedback on edited lecture videos to ensure clarity, accuracy, and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address and resolve video production issues.
- Ensure video editors complete and correct videos for each class in a timely manner to guarantee the class is ready to launch.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and update self-paced training modules or resources for current editors, ensuring they remain aligned with quality standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain editing templates and guidelines for video editors to streamline video production.
- Upload and manage video content within the learning management system.
- Explore new tools and technologies such as artificial intelligence to enhance video editing efficiency and quality.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Media Production, Communications, Education)
- At least two years of experience with video editing, motion graphics and/or animated content creation
- Experience with video editing software (preferably Camtasia).
- Excellent time management skills and strong ability to prioritize and multitask
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide clear and actionable feedback.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and consistency.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to receive critique and revise work accordingly.
- Familiarity with Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets
- Knowledge of copyright laws and accessibility standards as they pertain to educational media.
