WellStone is North Alabama's most comprehensive behavioral healthcare provider serving over 13,000 persons a year in Huntsville and Cullman. We are hiring for a Access and Benefit Enrollment SpecialistShift: M-F, 8-5What we're looking for -
- High School Diploma or equivalent ; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience in support of mental health/substance abuse services is a plus.
- Must complete SOAR training with in two months of hire.
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills and the ability to work collaborative with others.
- Knowledge of electronic health record applications online navigation of benefit resources, federal and state regulatory requirement ,and quality initiatives.
What you'll be doing:
- Greet all clients and visitors to the center with a friendly and helpful attitude.
- Answer telephone promptly and pleasantly, with no more than three rings .
- Open charts in avatar for clients seeking treatment or provide outreach services.
- Inform consumer of fees, using financial forms and request income verification .
- Cover front desk as needed.
- Assist consumers with appointment scheduling as needed.
- Conduct in reach activities with currently uninsured health center clients and outreach to non-health center persons in the health center's service area.
- Assist persons with enrollment in health insurance ,specifically Alabama Medicaid and All Kids.
- Provide and/or coordinate a follow-up to clients or their Care Coordinator to update on their Medicaid status, and obtain the information needed to process their application.
- Is sensitive and responsible to client needs, such as data collection ,development of Medicaid applications, maintenance of various aspects of the application process, etc.
- Provide education to health center staff about insurance options so they can assist in educating their clients.
- May represent the health center at health fairs to provide education on health insurance coverage and how to utilize their coverage to be healthier.
- Will be assisting with SSI/SSDI applications using SOAR model.
- Complete all required trainings ,participate in meetings assigned, and complete required reporting.
- Provide referrals to any applicable office of health insurance consumer assistance or ombudsman to address consumer grievances, complaints or questions about their health plan coverage.
- Other duties as assigned.
