Do you have a background in education with experience providing support to students with a range of disabilities? A respected academic institution is seeking an Access Coordinator to support and coordinate disability services for students. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring all students receive the accommodation and support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a diverse caseload of students with various disabilities and accommodation requirements
- Serving as primary contact for students, faculty, and relevant stakeholders regarding disability services
- Meeting with students to assess needs & update records via database
- Conducting information sessions with prospective students and/or parents about the services offered
- Referring students to other departments and services as needed
- Coordinating approved accommodation & ensure timely and accurate implementation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least one year of relevant experience, preferably in higher ed or similar field
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office & Google suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret data and prepare reports
- Experience with databases, electronic calendars, spreadsheets & word processing
- Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
- Strong judgment, with the ability to make decisions independently and prioritize tasks
