Catherwood Library is a service-oriented organization, offering expert research support through reference services, instruction, online guides, and access to premier collections.The OpportunityUnder the direction of the Access Services Manager of Catherwood Library, the Access Services Assistant will:
  • Coordinate physical and electronic reserves using Ares software.
  • Participate in scanning for document delivery and ILS.
  • Monitor the library to maintain proper study conditions.
  • Oversee the circulation desk workflow.
  • Assist in maintaining the stacks and collection.
  • Participate in projects related to Collection Development.
  • Help train and supervise 15-20 student assistants at Catherwood Library.
  • Participate in Cornell University Library (CUL) committee work, as schedule permits.
  • Promote and uphold the Cornell University Library's core values: collaboration, excellence, flexibility, innovation, integrity, and service.
This position's responsibilities are conducted at Catherwood Library Monday through Friday, with flexible start times, but non-flexible end times of 8:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and Fridays with an end time of 5:00 PM, with a total of 39 hours over a work week.
