Job Summary

The Access Services Coordinator is responsible for the opening procedures of the library and daily functions of the front circulation desk. Assists in training and managing the team of student workers. Processes inter-library loan requests through ILLiad, EZBorrow, and correspondence with students, faculty, staff, and outside organizations and vendors. Maintains accurate records of circulating materials using Alma and Excel. Generates statistics through the inter-library loan programs (Illiad and ReShare). The Access Services coordinator also executes intake procedures for and maintains the course reserves collection.

This position is hybrid eligible following the 90-day new hire period. This is a 40-hour-a-week position with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 11-7p.

Essential Functions

* Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

* Responsible for opening the library in conjunction with Access Services Manager.

* Assists Access Services Supervisor with training and management of student workers.

* Assists patrons in person, over the phone, and via email regarding circulation and other library-based inquiries.

* Communicate with other departments to problem solve and collaborate. Works with IT department and facilities to maintain library services and building operations.

* Processes inter-library loan requests in ILLiad and ReShare from patrons and other participating institutions. Records the movement of materials as they are shipped to and from the library using Alma and interlibrary loan software. Maintains monthly statistics regarding ILL fulfillment using Basecamp.

* Communicates and collaborates with other library personnel in the Jefferson Academic Commons to solve issues and develop projects.

* Contributes to a safe and welcoming environment for all.

* Maintains course reserves, updates LibGuides, and website language for ease of use.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

* Bachelor's degree preferred; High School diploma or GED required.

AND

Experience:

* 2+ years of clerical/customer service experience required.

* Experience in a library setting preferred.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required):

* 2+ years of clerical/customer service experience.

* Strong customer service skills.

* Ability to use and learn computer software and systems.

* Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
