Job Title: Account ClerkDepartment: Treasury, Department of FinanceUnder the direction of the Assistant Treasurer, performs routine preliminary accounting work involved in preparing financial records and in maintaining an accounting system; does other related duties.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES Perform all bank reconciliations ensuring all bank statements match the general ledger. Compares general ledger accounts to bank accounts and subsidiary accounts to maintain correct balance. Compare the balances shown on the general ledger cash accounts prior to month end closing to the balances shown general ledger Reserve accounts. Completes the monthly Cash Balances worksheet. Prepare necessary journal entries for the general ledger and maintain essential accounting records and files. Make recommendations in order to balance accounts. Review all outstanding checks for escheating to the state. Compiles complex financial statements and other reports using financial system data. Maintain account receivable records and communication to various local government offices and customers for outstanding payments. Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.
