The Account Director will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong client relationship while successfully leading an integrated team across experience strategy, web design, and dot com content production. You will manage multiple projects and workstreams for a Global leader in consumer electronics, while helping to organically grow the business through outstanding results, strategic thinking and client partnerships.
This role requires a strong background in leading strategic digital experience initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing senior client stakeholders, and a zest for tackling complex projects. While the majority of your time will be dedicated to one line of business, you may also be asked to take on new business projects to help the agency continue to grow.
What you do:
Account Management
- Confidently and strategically lead a team to deliver digital creative and innovative ideas that meet client objectives and internal agency quality expectations
- Plan all engagements, in partnership with Project Management, including: goals, deliverables, feedback loops, schedules and budgets by managing the workflow process
- With support from agency project managers, prioritize projects and resources while working across programs to ensure that teams are staffed appropriately
- Serve as a new business resource and actively pursue organic revenue sources while participating in strategic development of organic growth initiatives such as RFP responses and proposal writing
- Partner with Design, Experience Strategy, Data, Creative and Project Management to lead all initiatives with an emphasis on craft, quality and innovation.
- Shepherd the integrated team through complex projects with positivity, optimism, poise and strong leadership skills.
- Lead client presentations and oversee the development of presentation storytelling / narrative.
- Serving as the trusted voice of the client by predicting their feedback, understanding their business and culture, and proactively communicating what's best for their business.
- Report directly into the Group Account Director, proactively assessing and communicating risk with actionable mitigation plans.
- Manage resources, partners and clients spread across multiple global regions and time zones.
Financial Planning
- Managing line of business P&L from negotiating scopes of work and retainers, making sure work is delivered on budget, and invoicing clients according to the proper terms, while increasing ROI for the agency
- Negotiating proposal and budget with client, making necessary modifications and arranging contract signing (including writing of scopes of work)
- Working closely with Finance and Project Management on forecasting, billing, and reconciling fee and budgets
Leadership
- Helping mentor the Account Management team, which includes: providing adequate training, overseeing and conducting performance reviews, and resolving issues/problems.
- Modeling strong presentation skills that encourage participation and effect desired outcomes for meetings
- Ensuring the use of “best practices” and effective processes across the department and agency
- Moving quickly and effectively
- Being an active scholar of the Internet. Reading the trades, the blogs, and being able to make recommendations based on trends and internet happenings.
What you need:
- 5+ years of experience within an advertising agency setting
- Preferred 2+ years of management experience
- Demonstrated experience running large engagements with large clients or equivalent
- Experience with various projects types, including web, mobile, video, brand, and strategic consulting
- Proven negotiation skills experience, especially contract negotiations, with both clients and partners
- Strong knowledge of digital and web development technologies
- Experience working with and leading with multiple layers of client marketing teams - from Brand Manager to Senior Executives
- Ability to add structure and process when project plan is unclear/undefined

Location: NYC, hybrid
Salary range: 125-160K
The starting salary will match the skills and experience in the role assessed during the interview process.
