Job DescriptionSUMMARY Plan and direct all aspects of business development activities and initiatives for Air Force defense line of business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Includes the following:
  • Establishes, implements and maintains the overall business development direction and goals for an assigned client group.
  • Defines and drives growth by focusing on customer interaction, teaming approach, technical differentiation and contracting solution strategies.
  • Provides leadership in the financial analysis, sensitivity analysis, scenario planning and forecasting and aligns activities to the long-term strategic master plan.
  • Establish best practice that incorporates a sense of urgency and responsiveness while focused on delivering a high-quality product at desired profit margins.
  • Identifies potential business opportunities and/or partners to grow revenue and operating income.
  • Negotiates agreements that are beneficial in the continued growth and success of the company.
  • Assesses new markets, develops initiatives to penetrate and analyzes new business opportunities results.
  • Establishes effective and efficient communication with support areas and operations to meet business development direction and goals and grow revenue and operating income.
  • Promotes Cherokee Federal capabilities and qualifications to assigned client group.
  • Identification and qualification of new business opportunities of all sizes within pipeline.
  • Develops opportunity capture strategies and supports the execution of those strategies/tactics.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY No supervisory/management authority. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field and 10-15 years of experience in business development activities with the federal government, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have prior experience increasing sales and managing contracts in the range of $200M. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to develop and implement tactical and strategic plans, goals and objectives.
  • Strong relationship and business development skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of assigned client group including key contacts, decision-makers and both formal and informal decision-making processes.
  • Strong organization, planning and communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of GSA, 8(a) and Full & Open Government procurements including Micro Services.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting. Work may require travel, including overnight stays.
