Job Description:
The Account Manager is responsible for supporting the Group Benefit Consultant on their assigned book of business while delivering exceptional proactive service to clients. They are responsible for managing client needs and objectives while developing a customized strategy to service them. Duties and Responsibilities•Support Benefit Consultant in managing the renewal process for all clients•Develop and maintain relationships with client contacts including executives and human resource contacts•Prepare and host open enrollment meetings (via video conferencing or in person, as needed)•Arrange client-facing meetings involving key items such as renewal process, compliance overview, open enrollment and healthcare reform updates•Address client and employee inquiries regarding benefit plans, including enrollment or billing issues•Manage ongoing relationships with the carrier community including understanding product trends, plan design and underwriting methodology•Develop expertise in employee benefits by networking and participating in professional development activities through webinars and seminars for continued education, including industry-related designations•Maintain in-depth knowledge of compliance, regulatory issues, and other federal laws as they impact employee benefits•Maintain and document activities in CRM system, as well as following renewal and onboarding processes•Take proactive service approach with clients, as well as Benefit Consultant needs and how best to service•Collaborate with Account Manager team for best practice solutions•Responsible for escalated employee level issues as needed•Perform other duties as assignedRequirementsRequired Qualifications•Partially remote position with expectation to be in the office 3-4 business days a week •Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources or other related field and/or minimum of five years of experience in the employee benefits industry•Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships. •3-5 years of experience and knowledge of insurance carriers and employee benefits.•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe•Valid driver's license and reliable vehiclePreferred Qualification•Active license in Life and Health •Employee Navigator or Online Benefit Administration •Experience with Docusign•Prospect by identifying business needs and proposing various products and servicesSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is responsible for the mentoring and development of the Client Services Team as it relates to meeting client needs.Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position.Core days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.Occasional nights and weekends may be required to meet client needs.TravelOccasional in state travel will be required.Very limited out of state travel may be required for client meetings or training.
