POSITION SUMMARY The Account Manager is responsible for supporting the expansion of sales from existing and new customers. In this position you will learn what the customers needs are and find suitable motor solutions to complement their applications. This position requires the employee to engage in sales, customer service, forecasting, monitoring account metrics, and extensive collaboration, to create new opportunities for the department. Business travel (25%) is required to promote sales activities and provide customer support. Typically, travel occurs within the United States. International travel within North America is likely whereas travel abroad is less common. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Sales Activities
  • Pursue new business opportunities with existing and new customers as defined by our corporate strategy.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with the customers' Purchasing and Engineering personnel by frequently communicating; in-person & virtual meetings, phone calls, and emails.
  • Leverage Management and Engineering resources to be successful in this position.
  • After training, understand and convey the company's product portfolio and technical specifications.
  • Prepare and present general corporate and technical presentations.
  • Comprehend the customers requirements and suggest suitable motor candidate(s) that comply with those requirements.
  • Conduct commercial negotiations and contract review with customers' purchasing staff.
Marketing Activities
  • Research the market to learn about new emerging technologies and trends and share this knowledge within the department.
  • Investigate competitors' and customers product strategies.
  • Participate in customers' supplier conferences and attend technical trade shows to learn business trends and gain new opportunities.
  • Continuously improve the department s awareness of new potential applications.
Account Management Activities
  • Customer advocacy: when necessary, collaborate with Management, and the Operations and Quality departments to ensure your customers are being appropriately served.
  • Document and maintain detailed customer program information in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Establish and maintain sales forecasts for your assigned customers.
  • Establish appropriate inventory levels to avoid overstock or understock scenarios, while ensuring 100% on time deliveries - in depth program knowledge is paramount.
  • When necessary, swiftly utilize your contacts to politely resolve accounts in arrears.
  • Responsible for arranging and hosting customers when they visit Mabuchi facilities.

  • Strong customer service skills ability to translate the customers needs into solutions.
  • Ability to negotiate both internally and with customers.
  • Communication skills, especially persuasion, to clearly convey our products benefits to potential customers.
  • Interpersonal skills to work with a wide variety of people each day, to build relationships and networks.
  • The ability to balance persistence and patience in your daily work activities.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and teach others.
  • Proficient in Client Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must have a valid drivers license
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor s degree required and BS in Electrical Engineering or other technical discipline. Automotive Business to Business (B2B) sales experience preferred.
