Role and Responsibilities:
The Account Manager is responsible and accountable for expanding, developing, and maintaining the company's current customer base. This includes, cultivating partnerships through relationship building activities, contributing to the preparation of sales or service contracts for products or services, post-job follow-up and analysis and complying with all relevant company policy and regulations including those related to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment).
General Responsibilities:
- Identifies, coordinates and oversees securing new clients and/or revenue channels for the company
- Promotes sales to existing clients
- Evaluates market and technical trends in oil and gas plays
- Assesses clients' needs and resources and recommends the appropriate goods or services
- Provides input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit clients' needs
- Prepares and administers sales contracts, quotes and proposals
- Prepares sales proposals and delivers sales presentations
- Develops reports and proposals as part of sales presentation to illustrate benefits from use of goods or service
- Supplies post-sales support and technical services to clients relating to operation of equipment
- Reviews and adapts to information regarding product innovations, competitors and market conditions
- Plans the promotion of products and services
- Negotiates sales of products and services
- Prepares revenue and activity forecasts
- Expedite resolution of customer complaints and problems
- Completes other duties, special assignments and projects as required
Qualifications:
- Self-starter and motivated individual who is driven to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or five years' experience in oil and gas industry preferred
- Three years of experience in sales or related discipline preferred
- Mechanically inclined with downhole experience preferred
- Must be customer-focused, willing to learn
- Technical skills including equipment maintenance and selection, installation and operation preferred
- Knowledge of safety standards and requirements of complex oilfield service operations
- Knowledge and understanding of distribution, supply chain and manufacturing business operations
- Demonstrated professionalism and respect including ethical behavior and general business skills
- Awareness of latest technology related to product and business
- Demonstrated market knowledge
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate in an enthusiastic and motivated manner
- Skill in selling or promoting concepts and ideas
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, members and the general public
Work Experience/Education:
Five years of work experience in a similar position or industry is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of standard office processes and equipment, such as computer use, use of office productivity software, etc.
- Ability to listen and understand instructions, ask appropriate questions and complete actions as instructed.
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and effectively
- Ability to travel as needed to support company and/or customer needs
