Job Description:
Gdel, the world leader in robot tracks, gantry robots and other linear automation is actively recruiting for a sales professional to cover the southeast US. We solve work envelope challenges for leading systems integrators, OEM's and key end users in all industries. We build robot tracks that handle the full range of robots from every major manufacturer and gantry robots as big as a football field, with payloads up to 5,000lbs. All from our manufacturing and engineering facility in Ann Arbor, MI.If you have automation in your blood and are skilled at selling in complex, engineering driven project environments, we want to hear from you. Reporting directly to the director of North American sales, you would join a front-end team of account managers and application engineers supporting Gudel partners in building innovative automation solutions.The SE territory includes 8 states, and while candidates from GA, NC and SC have an edge, this position can be based anywhere in the Midwest or Southeast.   • Identifies long term and current business opportunities for the full portfolio of robotics products, components, and services. Engages the Company's installed base and active partners, and directly follows leads and assigned opportunities from Company's marketing programs.
  • Qualifies opportunities, both commercially and technically. Identifies competitive solutions, customers' budget, and feedback. Works to resolve objections to purchase, and ensures Company delivers highest value to customers.
  • Interfaces with production, systems, engineering, service, parts and training specialists to determine appropriate solutions. Prepares and presents proposals, quotations, and supporting presentations to Company management, and customer decision makers, and closes business.
  • Maintains constant dialog and healthy working relationships with customers and Company employees to identify future opportunities and conduct business.
  • Maintains accurate sales contact information in Company's contact database. Actively participates in Company Sales, Training, and Meetings.
  • Travels internationally and domestically as required and approved.
  • Adheres to all GUS policies and procedures including safety.
  • Supports ISO & Lean practices, requirements and concepts.
Education, professional (skills) and language skills
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Engineering, Technology, or Mechatronics, or equivalent military training.
  • Five years of related technical sales, installations, or service experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing sales plans with long selling cycles.
  • Demonstrated experience in structured, value-based sales processes such as Consultative Selling, Sandler or Miller Heiman.
Work experience requirements / Experience in specific working area
  • Strong relationship with customer contacts: engineering, purchasing, production and maintenance departments, supplier base, and its machine builders and integrators.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM

Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products and sales database products such as SalesForce.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally - Up to 50% of working year required travel to sites.
