Account Manager, Strategic Publication Planning

Job Summary

Account Managers oversee project management for one or more accounts; participate in the development, execution and delivery of publication plans; establish ongoing collaboration with designated account team leaders to define client commitments, expectations, and project budgets; and advise and assist Project Managers with daily oversight including prioritization of all projects to ensure high-quality, on-time, on-budget performance.

Account Managers direct assigned account team members to ensure that all activities and documents meet timeline, financial, and quality objectives and commitments. This requires an ability to manage multiple projects, monitor deadlines, prioritize work, evaluate the cost-effectiveness and productivity of team and individual performance, and identify, analyze, and adjust work procedures and relationships to maximize efficiency.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Account awareness and workflow management
  • Client services and engagement
  • Publication compliance, documentation, operational, financial, and team management
  • Research support
  • Amassing therapeutic area/product knowledge

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical and/or medical communications company; preferably in medical publications
  • Bachelor's degree (candidates with an advanced degree and/or CMPP certification preferred)
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple accounts in compliance with internal and industry policies
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team matrix structure
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ease with finances and budget profitability
  • Knowledge of industry guidelines, GPP, ICMJE, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS365 including Word, PPT, Excel, Outlook and Teams. Experience with PubSTRAT and/or Datavision a PLUS!
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Extraordinary multitasking abilities

Travel Requirements

  • 20% potential global travel
