SUMMARY: The Account Manager for Tire & Wheel is to develop a pipeline of ongoing and new business in the assigned market to leverage existing assets and expertise in third party testing and consulting. Furthermore, broad responsibilities include developing customer value proposition statements with the business manager, ensuring close communication and feedback is maintained with clients and internal stakeholders, and developing a deep expertise in the Smithers testing service lines as well as broad know-how around how Smithers testing services can be applied to client and industry applications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Experience targeting and acquiring new clients through a process of prospecting and discovery • Experience in selling 3rd party testing services and aptitude to comprehend complex science-based issues specific to a variety of industries • Experience in product development in one or several industries; automotive, tire or wheel • Working knowledge of product development lifecycles and common industry stage-gates (DV&R and PPAP) • Professional experience interpreting and applying testing standards to design and execute testing programs • Familiarity with the common suite of vehicle testing services, and component testing • Strong written communication and presentation skills with a high level of comfort speaking with executives, engineering management, and laboratory technicians • Experience utilizing a CRM system to track and manage leads, contacts, relationships, and opportunities • Fosters a collaborative selling culture inclusive of peers, marketing personnel and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Business Managers • Engages prospective clients through web conference, phone, and face-to-face interactions • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements, developing, and negotiating statements of work and contracts • Leads the creation and delivery of client facing presentation materials (service line value presentations, client overviews, and value proposition development) • Develops and implements marketing strategies, negotiate contracts, and oversee service delivery • Ensures outstanding customer service and client satisfaction • Identifies trends in the marketplace and competitive situations with clients or within industry • Demonstrates patience and cultural sensitivity to customers, partners, and regional business teams • Understands regional dynamics impacting the business and industry (e.g., market needs, economic/political environment, labor practices, legal issues) • Ensures “local” actions and decisions within business, function and/or geography are aligned with global goals and initiatives EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:• Three (3)+ years' experience in service sales, or consulting, and working in support of development of tire and wheel development, or automotive engineering • Approximately 50% out-of-office travel; client visits, hosting clients, attending industry meetings & conferences • International travel, as required #LI-JW1 Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
