Description: (Bridgeview Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) is an affiliate of Bethany for Children & Families) Bethany for Children & Families is currently looking for a full-time Account Services Supervisor to join the team of professionals at Bridgeview Community Mental Health Center in Clinton Iowa. Under the supervision of the Associate Division Director of Mental and Behavioral Health, responsible for direction and oversight of billing and patient registration activities and staff, as well as performing direct billing/accounts receivable duties in support of office business operations. Demonstrates customer focused behaviors and follows established procedures in the performance of duties, ensuring that account collections are maximized. What YOU get for being an Account Services Supervisor : Competitive Compensation For full-time employees in their first year of employment, one hour of vacation time is earned for every 26 hours paid , with a maximum of 80 hours earned per year . For full-time employees after their first year of employment, one hour of vacation time is earned for every 13 hours paid, with a maximum of 160 hours earned per year. Full-time employees earn one hour of sick leave for every 21.67 hours paid. Account Services Supervisor specifics: 1. Provides constructive and professional supervision to assigned staff in an effort to ensure all services are properly implemented as specified in applicable regulation, accreditation standards, contract(s), and agency policies and procedures. 2. Provides day-to-day oversight and direction to office billing and receptionist staff. Participates in the interviewing and hiring of new staff. Orients, reviews, counsels, and disciplines staff 3. Ensures, through the supervision of receptionists, efficient and accurate patient scheduling. 4. Ensures timely and accurate filing of claims to insurance and/or to third party payors. Closely monitors any contracted billing services working on behalf of the CMHC that does the same. 5. Monitors accounts receivable balances and takes action to ensure revenue is collected. 6. Posts payments and works payment denials, as needed. 7. Provides oversight and support to ensure patient registration and insurance information is properly collected upon intake and updated as needed, which includes insurance coverage/eligibility, address changes and legal settlement information. 8. Collaborates with the agency personnel responsible for contracting and credentialing. 9. Ensures patient liability is collected in accordance with agency policies and manages, in collaboration with the Division Director or Associate Director(s), delinquent patient accounts and collection processes. 10. Ensures, through the supervision of the Intake Coordinator and Billing Clerk positions, the efficient and effective billing office functions. 11. Responsible for decreasing organization risk of audit paybacks through improvement of policies and procedures, monitoring, and adherence to state and federal regulations. 12. Provides administration with information vital to decision-making, including data compilation, periodic reports, and analytical review. 13. Communicates policies related to billing and reception staff and ensures implementation within the system. 14. Assesses needs and resources for the billing office, receptionists, and intake staff, recommending improvements and overseeing implementation. 15. Establishes and implements best practice standards for scheduling, billing, and coding. 16. Provides information to the public, patients/clients, and staff regarding general billing and coding practices, policies, rules, and regulations. 17. Collaborates with administrative staff, clinical and medical department personnel and representatives. 18. Represents the organization at various community meetings/functions as appropriate. 19. Meets regularly with supervisor for oversight, direction, and support. 20. Participates in all required agency training and staff development opportunities. 21. Maintains a positive relationship with agency, funding, and referral sources through the provision of quality services and timely responses to questions, concerns, and issues. 22. Complies with all rules, regulations, codes, and legal requirements assigned by various licensing and accreditation entities. 23. Demonstrates a commitment to ethical practices and maintain the highest level of professional integrity in adherence to the agency's corporate compliance program. 24. Performs and carries out all other duties as assigned. Requirements: The Account Services Supervisor shall have, (or is preferred to have as noted): 1. The ability to fulfill all of the regulatory requirements for employees of a Community Mental Health Center in the State of Iowa or Illinois as required by state and federal law. This includes successful completion of the criminal background investigation, clearance from the Illinois CANTS when applicable, as well as the office of the inspector general exclusionary screening. 2. A High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Some post high school training and education preferred. 3. Two or more years billing/accounts receivable experience. 4.
