THE POSITION

The Department of Revenue is seeking an Accountant 2 to oversee employees who analyze and evaluate corporation tax accounts, ensuring that the proper methods and procedures are followed and result in accurate and efficient compliance with established objectives. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Accountant 2, you will provide supervision to an accounting section in the Bureau of Business Taxpayer's Accounting division and prepare weekly production reports pertaining to the supervised section. Work includes reviewing and analyzing new and current tax laws, proposed legislation, and amendments for compliance as well as interpreting revenue rules and regulations as they relate to improvements to existing systems. You will have the opportunity to act as a liaison between other bureaus and divisions to resolve accounting systems issues. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating training for employees within the division.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30 or 60-minute lunch, based on selected work schedule.
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. You will be required to report in-office at minimum one day per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year as an Accountant 1;or
+ Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.
+ Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
