Job Overview:The Accounting Associate will handle a variety of accounting tasks, including the preparation, analysis, and reconciliation of financial records and reports. - Financial Record Preparation: Prepare, analyze, review, and verify various financial reports and statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- General Accounting: Perform basic accounting functions, such as journal entries and reconciliations, in areas like Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Cost Accounting.
- Fixed Asset Accounting: Audit and manage fixed assets, including preparing asset additions, disposals, depreciation forecasts, and applicable reports.
- Tax & Insurance Reporting: Prepare tax reports and personal property tax returns, as well as data for insurance reporting.
- Capital Projects: Manage capital requests, monitor project spending, and ensure compliance with budgets and forecasts.
- ERP Systems: Develop and maintain proficiency in applicable ERP systems, using them to support various accounting functions.
- Procedures & Documentation: Develop and maintain work procedures and instructions for assigned activities to ensure consistent and accurate results.
- Record Management: Maintain files and records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Additional Duties: Assist with other accounting-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Required Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Computer & Software Skills: Proficiency in computers and software programs, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all accounting tasks.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.

Preferred Skills & Experience:
- ERP System Knowledge: MAPICS XA or other ERP system experience is preferred.
- Fixed Asset Management: 1-3+ years of experience managing fixed assets is preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with SAGE Fixed Asset Software is a plus.
Experience:
- Required: No experience required; entry-level position.
- Preferred: 1-3+ years of experience in an accounting role, with a focus on fixed assets or general accounting functions.
