About Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) Following 9/11, the community and civic planning process that resulted in the World Trade Center master plan in 2003 envisioned a new performing arts center as one of the anchors of the site. The Perelman Performing Arts Center (PAC NYC) opened in the Fall of 2023 realizing that plan and becoming the new home for emergent and established artists in theater, dance, music, opera, and multi-disciplinary performance from New York and the world in downtown Manhattan. The role Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accountant will play a critical role in the financial accounting and reporting functions of PAC NYC as part of a four-person accounting team. This role will be responsible for month-end close activities, revenue data entry, accounts payable, and for the monthly reconciliation of income and balance sheet accounts. Role will also serve as back-up to weekly payroll processing and other Bookkeeper job duties. Key responsibilities
  • Working with the Director of Finance/Controller, Assistant Controller/Sr. Accountant, and Bookkeeper, the Accountant will be responsible for the timely and accurate management of accounting processes to contribute to the efficient and compliant financial management of PAC NYC.
  • Ensure the timeliness, accuracy and completeness of month end close activities.
  • Oversee and post daily financial transactions:
    • Contributed and earned income revenue: Donations, ticket sales, facility rentals, and retail sales.
    • Reconciling Credit Card Sales (Spektrix, Worldpay, Adyen & Bank Clearing Accounts)
    • Reconciling staff credit card expenses
    • Post Payroll into the general ledger: ADP Salaries, Payroll Taxes, Fringe Benefits, etc.
    • Deposit preparation
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Meet weekly with Development Operations manager to reconcile Spektrix and NetSuite programs
  • 1099 entry and preparation
  • Assist in Audit preparation and 990 tax return compliance.
  • Provide backup support for ADP payroll processing, as required.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned
What it takes to be successful in the role
  • Non-Profit organization experience
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in an accounting or related role
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a critical position as part of a small team.
  • Strong attention to detail, well-organized, and technologically savvy.
  • Prior experience using financial software. Experience working in NetSuite a plus.
Compensation and benefits Annual salary will range between $70,000 and $80,000 plus full benefits. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, life, accidental death and dismemberment and disability benefits, and self-insured dental, vision and health care and dependent day care flexible spending accounts. Full time employees are eligible for paid time off and 401K enrollment with employer match. Work location and requirements Position will begin as 100% in office during training period of three months, followed by two remote and three in-office days per week.
