Accountant CNY Fertility is seeking an experienced and passionate Accountant to join our growing team. Since 1997, we've been making fertility care affordable and accessible worldwide. With nine locations nationwide and robust telehealth services serving patients from all over the world, CNY has a vision for further expansion as we eliminate financial barriers to family building. You'll play a vital role, reporting to the Director of Corporate Accounting, and working closely with the CFO, and other C-Suite leaders to ensure CNY Fertility's continued success in making the priceless affordable for years to come. Position is remote, although in person opportunities for collaboration with leadership in our Jacksonville, FL or Sarasota, FL or Syracuse, NY offices are available. Description: An Accrual Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring that a company's financial records are accurate and comply with accounting standards. By maintaining precise financial data Responsibilities: Maintain Financial Records: Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports in accordance with the accrual accounting method. Analyze Financial Data: Examine financial data and records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and policies. Month-End Close: Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciling accounts and preparing adjusting entries. Journal Entries: Record journal entries for accruals such as revenue recognition, expenses, and adjustments as necessary. Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Financial Reporting: Prepare and generate financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Internal Controls: Maintain and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with other accounting and finance team members to support overall financial processes and business operations. Assist in Audits: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations for financial transactions. Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to streamlining financial operations. Ad hoc Projects: Handle special projects or tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced degrees (e.g., Master's in accounting) are a plus. Experience: Proven experience in accounting, preferably with experience in accrual accounting. Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP, and experience with financial reporting and analysis. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems is preferred. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial data and reporting. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and resolve issues. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders. Time Management: Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
