Overview:
      The Accountant is a specialist professional, responsible for general accounting functions including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, and account and bank reconciliations in accordance with GAAP and company policy. Assists with monthly close, account analysis and supports the Accounting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the close process. The role is an individual contributor position reporting to the Regional Accounting Manager and routinely interacts with the regional operations and in country finance teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Intercompany work agreements as required, including Intercompany invoicing.
  • Preparation of relevant monthly accrual Journals and loading into the accounting system.
  • Prepare assigned journal entries. (prepaid amortizations, cash postings, benefits, rent, leases, intercompany billing, etc.)
  • Monthly GL reconciliation & closure - General Ledger reconciliations required every month before cutoff not limited to AR accounts (monthly reporting rhythm for AR metrics). Provide explanation for material variances.
  • Bank Account Reconciliations.
  • Review/post Intercompany A/P & A/R.
  • Balance intercompany accounts.
  • Liaise with local banks for funds transfer etc.
  • Assist with Quarterly Schedules & reports.
  • Assist with Monthly Financials Statements
  • Assist in Annual Business Planning process.
  • Assist with Ad-Hoc & Variance Analysis Reporting.
  • Adhere to deadlines established in the Financial Reporting Calendar and Corporate-specific deadlines.
  • Help with other analytics or accounting/finance projects as directed by the management.
Local Requirements:

Work Location Makati, Philippines

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or compensated experience in an established accounting function
  • Minimum of 3 years of in-depth experience in general accounting and/or auditing
  • ERP accounting software experience (MS office, JD Edwards/SAP or Oracle Cloud experience a plus)
  • Experience with consolidation software is a plus (Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion Financial Planning)
  • Possess strong computer & analytical skills; intermediate Excel
  • Presentation skills (intermediate PowerPoint user)
  • Experience in the Energy & Construction Industry a plus
