The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements, and providing critical financial insights to support the company's operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and generate financial statements.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Work closely with management to analyze financial data and provide recommendations for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
- Support the preparation of tax returns and coordinate with external auditors.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and document accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive or retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
