Responsibilities:
Serve our members. Reconcile various general ledger accounts on a timely basis. Analyze and make adjusting entries as needed. Assistance with preparation and submission of NCUA Call report. Prepare and post journal entries for any items requiring posting to the general ledger. Prepare and post end-of-month journal entries to record various general ledger adjustments. Responsible for processing return deposit checks and correspond with the member when necessary. Back-up Accounts Payable and Share Draft Agents as needed. Responsible for proper storage and retention of all entries. Must maintain strictly confidential information pertaining to the Credit Association, member, and employee business. Maintains regulatory compliance including the Bank Secrecy Act. Follows the CARE and QA Service Standards and maintains excellent understanding of FECA products and services. Participates in ongoing training for professional and personal development. Maintains a positive, professional attitude and works well with a team. Assist in any area as directed by the Accounting Manager and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications:
Four-year accounting degree from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 years of Financial Institution experience preferred, including understanding of credit union philosophy and knowledge of credit union rules and regulations. Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to apply necessary accounting practices for compliance with credit union laws, rules, and regulations. Good analytical skills in resolving accounting errors. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and basic math skills. Must be accurate, organized, attentive to details, and manage time well. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
