Job Description:

A nonprofit services organization in Florida is currently seeking a new Accountant to join their growing Finance team in Orlando.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm
  • Setting: On-site

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with monthly financial results comparing budget to actual
  • Monitor Medicare/Medicaid billing for discrepancies; follow up on resolving issues; addressing any issues with participant enrollments as related to payment
  • Prepare annual departmental budgets
  • Review all detailed transactions, as required, to ensure the accuracy of month end and annual financial statement reporting
  • Handle the financial reports as necessary such as tax filing, State reports, etc.
  • Assist the Accounting & Claims Specialist with any claim questions and/or issues
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting to primary lender(s) and financial institution
  • Provide banking oversight and management to the other team members
  • Complete ad-hoc and recurring analysis requests to support company-wide analytic requests
  • Initiate and lead data intensive projects; translate quantitative findings into practical insights through the interpretation of data, trends and other sources
  • Prepare monthly and annual reconciliations and schedules for the annual audits
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
