This role is ideal for someone who is looking to put to work their exceptional attention to details and accuracy skills to generate the firm's financial data by researching, investigating and resolving trends or anomalies efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions for this fast growing and every changing organization.Supervisor: Assistant controllerLocation: New York office (Three days a week in office)Primary Responsibilities:
  • Participate in all activities related to full-cycle accounting, including but not limited to: building journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and researching and resolving effectively discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Possess a keen eye for unusual transactions; follow up with the appropriate parties to get more information; discuss the findings with the accounting team to determine appropriate next steps and resolve accordingly
  • Conduct daily / monthly bank account and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
  • Investigate fluctuations and monitor trends in the accounts
  • Collaborate with other teams to gain an in depth understanding of the story behind the movements
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
  • Accurately enter transactions using Elite 3E
  • Responsible for process improvement by finding ways to add efficiency /quality
  • Collaborate with team members globally
  • Present detailed and error free work product of a high level
  • Have a natural intellectual curiosity to be a proactive member of the overall Finance team
  • Ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in a relevant field required
  • Accounting degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a relevant position is required
  • Big 4 experience is a plus but not required
  • Experienced in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong Excel skills required
  • 3e or Aderant law firm accounting software experience highly preferred
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to promptly assess documents for accuracy and consistency
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others in a positive and effective manner
  • Ability to work in a team environment on a global scale
  • Effective & to-the-point communication skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully resolve problems, with a focus on obtaining sustainable results
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a very fast paced and growing business

At the time of posting, the salary range for this role is $67,000 (minimum) - $100,000 (maximum). This range is based on a full-time work schedule. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
