Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Fiscal Manager, the accountant position will be involved in a wide variety of accounting duties such as generating financial statements, reviewing invoices and expenditures, preparing bank reconciliations, coordinating grant reports, reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, as well as, generating assorted reports and maintaining confidential files. Tasks: Prepare bank reconciliation; generate financial reports; manage operating funds; verify and authorize payables; ensure compliance with audit samples; participate in budgetary review process; support related entities; assure adequate control of agency assets; complete assignment as directed; maintain work areas; participate in meetings training community relations activities; knowledge of general orders; assist with bid specifications; prepare grant related reports; grant implementation and financial management; facilitates grant funded program implantation; facilitate county grant approval process; proved back-up within the bureau; generate reports; receive, route. and disperse telephone calls/messages; maintain confidential files; maintain and update files/reports/documentation; organize and assemble requested information; completes special projects; coordinate Federal Forfeiture Fund; coordinate Law Enforcement Trust Fund; maintain inventory records; conduct annual department wide property inventory; and reconcile expenditure reports. Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university Four years related experience Government accounting experience preferred Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience preferred Proficient in Microsoft Excel as demonstrated through testing Ability to work independently Possess excellent mathematical and analytical skills Long Term Cap $101,254.40 2080 Annual Hours
