Responsibilities This position is responsible for preparing reports for the Company including, internal and external reports, as well as administering the financial reporting system (Axiom), and preparing ad hoc analyses as needed. As such the employee filling this position should be detail-oriented with knowledge of GAAP and SEC accounting procedures and financial reporting practices and have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to summarize and present complex financial data in an organized, concise manner. They must be able to work independently and have the ability to interact with coworkers, management, auditors, and regulators. Support Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager and Assistant Corporate Controller in preparing certain financial statements, footnotes, tables and other schedules, ensuring that all reporting is in compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines: Daily and monthly internal management reports. Monthly board reports. Quarterly earnings release. Quarterly and annual SEC filings (Form 10-Q and Form 10-K) Other press releases as needed. Assist with financial reporting system including: Load daily general ledger data to the financial reporting system. Update financial reporting system for new general ledger accounts and cost center combinations. Compile and load necessary non-general ledger data monthly. Build reports and analyses as needed. Reconcile monthly application data. Build ad hoc reports/analyses/queries as requested by management. Prepare standard monthly journal entries related to acquired loan accounting. Prepare weekly reporting on opened/closed general ledger account combinations. Prepare quarterly monitoring procedures related to Regulation W compliance. Assist with validation testing of version upgrades to general ledger and certain financial reporting systems. Assist in the annual financial statement audit and quarterly financial statement reviews by providing supporting schedules/explanations to the external audit team. Analyze quarterly and annual fluctuations for the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. Assist with internal controls, including reviews and updates to process and system control narratives. Complete a variety of projects as assigned by management. Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner. Qualifications Education, Training and Requirements: B.S. degree in Accounting or Business Administration Must have knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation All applicants must be 18 years of age or older Skills: Proficient knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement accounting principles/procedures; knowledge of banking/financial services environment preferred; strong interpersonal relations and communication skills; and a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years external public Accounting or banking or financial services experience.
