Job SummaryThe Accountant plays a vital role in the accounting team, handling daily accounting tasks and ensuring accurate financial records. Key responsibilities include managing financial reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close processes, and daily cash management. This position requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process daily sales, reconcile sales systems to general ledger and prepare daily journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits/expenses, and addresses inquiries from banks and department managers
- Perform general ledger reconciliations to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, cash flow statements, and profit-and-loss statements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain knowledge of accounting principles and industry trends.
- Perform general accounting functions and other related duties as needed.
- Collaborate with the Finance Director and administrative team to support financial goals.
- Handle additional tasks or projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
- Experience in accounting/finance roles
- High level of proficiency with Excel and Microsoft office suite
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Business Central is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize with a strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong background with financial and POS systems with ability to quickly learn new programs
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Other Requirements:
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours based on business needs.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.
- Capability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Compensation is based on the candidate's experience and educational background.
