Job Description:
Position OverviewThe Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting department.The ideal candidate will have strong foundation inaccounting principles and excellent analytical skills. Responsibilities- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.Assist with the month-end financial close and reporting process.Learn capitalization policy and apply to asset purchases.Maintain fixed asset records, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.Reconcile property tax assessment with asset list and prepare taxes for payment.Perform accounts payable functions including, but not limited to reviewing invoices for accuracy, creating new vendors in the accounting system, coding invoices into the accounting system and maintaining organized records of invoices/receipts/payments. Perform accounts receivable functions including, but not limited to creating invoices for customers, coding invoices into the accounting system, maintaining organized records of invoices/receipts/payments and collecting any past due accounts.Supporting Accounting Department with special projects as needed.Assist with support requests during the financial audit.Open to working with corporate accounting and providing information to them upon request.Work across divisions and learn LIMS wood accounting software.Qualifications- Bachelor of Accounting degree required. - 1-2 years professional experience accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude with creative solutions, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with strong attention to detail.Exceptional communication skills- both written and verbal.Strong organizational skills and time management skills.
