Job Summary – AUDIT COMPLIANCE ACCOUNTANT Position reports to: Finance Director Working collaboratively and strategically, the Audit Compliance Accountant will assist FAA BU's to be in compliance with both IA and external audits. The individual will understand, communicate and guide FAA's BU's how to be in compliance with audit procedures and results The Audit Compliance Accountant will coordinate with the Controllers and Finance departments of FAA and will guide them to compliance with IA and external audit results. Responsibilities Rapidly obtain an understanding of the business structure and business processes. Establish relationships with key process owners and deliver high quality work products. Coordinate meetings with FAA Finance departments to create, implement, maintain, and / or revise business and / or systems process documentation. Perform detailed analysis to identify applicable risks and assess internal controls. Guide BU's Finance Departments on internal controls for JSOX compliance and internal audits. Reach conclusions based on findings, clearly document results and communicate to supervisor. Assist BU's in development of, or recommend action plans for control deficiencies identified by AFL IA and by external auditors Monitor action plan progress and remediation, as needed. Communicate test results and process improvements clearly and effectively to the manager. This includes an explanation of risks, control gaps, control deficiencies, and recommendations for mitigation and / or remediation plans. Writing reports to summarize and formalize audit findings by AFL. Where applicable, make recommendations to gain process efficiencies. Assist FAA Finance departments in completion of their quarterly reviews, control environment assessment, and / or financial statement audit. Personal Qualities Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with colleagues, staff and external contacts, and to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a professional team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills and must be able to communicate effectively with all levels within the Company. Qualifications Three - five years of experience in an auditing or risk advisory role, manufacturing and/or services environments. Big Four public accounting experience is preferred. Relevant technical knowledge in financial statement audits, internal or operational audits, SSAE 16 engagements, and / or ERP security and control reviews. JSOX (or US SOX) and internal control assessment process, control testing, external audit processes, and general manufacturing or services control environment knowledge. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in Oracle and Great Plains (other ERP systems a plus), and will be able to effectively communicate audit objectives, test plans, and results. Strong analytical skills, strong desktop skills including Excel, Visio, Word, and Access, proven desire to focus on process improvements, ability to think and function both tactically and strategically Working Conditions General office environment expectations. Predominantly sitting with some bending and stooping but no lifting over 10-15 pounds. Tasks: Review results from previous Internal Audit and External Audit per AFL Define and prioritize projects along with supervisor to guide FAA BU's to compliance BALANCE SHEET RECONCILIATIONS – 25% Review BS reconciliations of all FAA BU's in OneStream by 3 rd week of each month Prepare a file for each BU to be reviewed with Finance Director of those reconciliations that need improvement like adequate back up documentation or requires changes in order to be in compliance Conduct meetings on a monthly basis by 4 th week of the month to guide, support and follow up with each BU's on how to correct/get BS reconciliations up to compliance and correct balance. Track progress month by month and communicate to supervisor INTERCOMPANY ACTIVITY– 25% Reconcile balance of FAA intercompany activity thru 2024 for all BU's Reconcile Intercompany activity of all FAA BU's on a monthly basis Schedule and coordinate monthly meeting to reconcile monthly IC activity between all BU's on 3 rd day of the month MONTH END – 10% Review BU's checklists and implement additional checklists that ensure month end close processes are completed. INVENTORY – 25% Establish required analysis to support reserves for obsolete and slow-moving inventory Review Inventory reserve and Layering report on a monthly basis coordinating with respective departments during 2 nd week of the month OTHER TASKS – 15% Review and participate on narrative reviews conducted by AFL IA
