Job DetailsJob Details:We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in accounting, with a specific focus on QuickBooks, Payroll, General Ledger, Project Accounting, Budgeting, and Tax Preparation. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role. Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliation in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain QuickBooks for project accounting, payroll, and general ledger.
- Develop and maintain financial record-keeping and reporting systems.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements; assist with regulatory reporting as applicable.
- Manage the preparation and execution of payroll, ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and effectively.
- Assist CPA firm with reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
- Analyze and review budgets and expenditures for local, state, federal and private funding, contracts and grants.
- Ensure the financial management of all construction projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures, seeking to minimize the costs of the project and enhance value for money while achieving the required standards and quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
- Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Proficient in accounting software including QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and other financial planning software.
- Strong understanding of payroll, general ledger, and project accounting.
- Experience with budget preparation, tax preparation, and financial reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
