- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar position; NY State OPWDD/SED experience preferred
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
Essential Functions
- Responsible for supervising Accounting staff including, but not limited to training and mentoring of all team members
- Monthly entries and analysis for the affordable housing project
- Annual entries and workpapers, etc. for the affordable housing project
- Monthly analysis and entries related to ASC-842 lease accounting
- Oversight of fixed asset/plant accounting processes
- Oversight of the grants accounting process
- Oversight and participation in all month-end close activities
- Prepare monthly Statement of Financial Position, cash flows and financial ratios analysis
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly financial statements
- Periodic review of payroll and related entries in the general ledger
- Periodic update of property analysis book
- Prepare and review of CFR schedules, as needed
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Assess current practices and procedures; make recommendations for improvements and implement where appropriate
- Communicate with outside auditors and other regulatory officials, as needed
- Other duties, as assigned.

- Substantial reasoning skills required including the ability to identify the problem, interpret data, draw conclusions and pose a resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have strong analytical skills and be able to work independently.
