Assistant ControllerPrimary Purpose of JobResponsible for management and oversight of daily accounting operations; analysis and preparation of monthly financial statements and annual audit work papersRequirementsBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required ; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus3-5 years' experience in a similar position; NY State OPWDD/SED experience preferredMust be proficient in Microsoft ExcelEssential FunctionsResponsible for supervising Accounting staff including, but not limited to training and mentoring of all team membersMonthly entries and analysis for the affordable housing projectAnnual entries and workpapers, etc. for the affordable housing projectMonthly analysis and entries related to ASC-842 lease accountingOversight of fixed asset/plant accounting processesOversight of the grants accounting processOversight and participation in all month-end close activitiesPrepare monthly Statement of Financial Position, cash flows and financial ratios analysisEnsure timely and accurate delivery of monthly financial statementsPeriodic review of payroll and related entries in the general ledgerPeriodic update of property analysis bookPrepare and review of CFR schedules, as neededDevelop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationshipsAssess current practices and procedures; make recommendations for improvements and implement where appropriateCommunicate with outside auditors and other regulatory officials, as neededOther duties, as assigned.Additional Knowledge, Skills and AbilitySubstantial reasoning skills required including the ability to identify the problem, interpret data, draw conclusions and pose a resolution.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must have strong analytical skills and be able to work independently.Applicants include a resume and use the apply now button or apply online at www.acld.org.Call/text 516 ###-#### or email ...@acld.orgAn EOE m/f/d/v
