Our client is dedicated to serving individuals who have suffered long-term illnesses as a result of hazardous environments. They are currently seeking a contract accounting assistant to fill in during an extended medical leave. The duration of this position is anticipated to be between 6 to 9 months. Job Title: Accounting Assistant Pay: $20-$23/hr. Job Summary: - Provide comprehensive financial support to the firm's accountants, ensuring accurate and efficient management of finances. - Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to client cases of hazardous exposure and long-term illness. Key Responsibilities: - Manage day-to-day accounting tasks including invoice processing, expense reports, and ledger entries. - Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Collaborate with legal teams to ensure accurate billing and tracking of case-related expenses. - Maintain confidential client financial information with the utmost discretion and integrity. - Assist in tax preparation and ensuring compliance with financial legal requirements. - Utilize accounting software to record, store, and analyze information. - Help in budgeting and forecasting for cases involving long-term illness due to hazardous environments. - Communicate with clients regarding billing and payment matters in a sensitive and professional manner. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. - Proven experience as an accounting assistant or accounting clerk. - Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures and best practices. - Familiarity with finance regulations, particularly as they relate to health and environmental law. - Proficient in MS Office and accounting software. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Strong numerical proficiency and analytical skills. - Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
